What is Addiction medicine?

Addiction medicines are drugs which when taken continuously by a person may produce dependence.ie, an overpowering desire to take the drug and obtain it by any means. When the drug is suddenly withdrawn patient will develop withdrawal symptoms such as violent behavior. Drugs such as morphine pethidine and alcohol will produce addiction.
