Brief Answer:
improve diet, do exercises, meet endocrinologist

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX welcome to HCM and thanks for choosing us.

Your husband's reports suggest two things 1. Hypovolumic erythrocytes 2. Dyslipidemia. Erythrocyten you have mentioned is Red blood cells count it is slightly higher. On the other hand your husband's red blood cells are smaller in volume (mcv), and content less haemoglobin per red blood cell(mch). It indicates nutritional deficiency. When red blood cells are not of good quality body tries to compensate by increasing red blood cells numbers, which is a reason behind increased numbers of erythrocytes. Improve his nutrition by increasing green leafy vegetables, fruits, coarse cereals like ragi, jaggery etc. He can also take iron and vitamin tablets.

Dyslipidemia is disturbed lipid profile. For his age this cholesterol is really high. It should be always less than 200 . Hdl levels should be higher as it is beneficial lipid. There's risk of heart ailments with high lipid levels. He needs to reduce his fat intake. Also reduce carbohydrates. Vegetables and fruits will help in this too. He should reduce weight if it is high. He should do regular exercises like jogging, playing. It will reduce total cholesterol and increase the proportion of HDL which is a beneficial lipid. It will improve ldl/hdl too.

His tsh levels are also high. You should meet a endocrinologist or a thyroid doctor. This tsh levels will require medications, however t3 and t4 levels need to be measured before starting medicines.

I hope my reply will help you. Please write to us for follow up queries. Kindly provide a feedback on this reply. Thanks

Brief Answer:
it's ok, do retesting at 3rd month

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX welcome again. Thanks for the feedback and for a follow up question.

Your doctor is right in his advise. T4 is real thyroxine hormone and TSH is thyroid stimulating hormone. T4 levels control the tsh levels in feedback method. So your TSH will become normal in some time if your T4 is maintained within normal range. So don't worry.

However i would like to advise you to do a retesting of thyroid profile at the end of third month. Once it becomes normal you can do it six monthly.

I hope my reply will help you. Please write to us for follow up queries. Kindly provide a feedback on this reply. Thanks
