What Causes Persistent Nausea After A Placing Of Stents In Heart?
Question: Im 55 Years Old , Had Umbilical Hernia Surgery Back In Feb of 13 , There After I Had A Heart Attack And Had 3 Stents Placed In My Right Artery . That Was On XXXXXXX 7th 2013 . Every Since Ive Has Nausea Everyday For Atleast 10 Months . Wake Up With It & It Stay With Me !! I Was Takeing Metetropol , Then Went To Atentnol , Cant Take It , Then Norvasc , Last 4 Months , My Wife And I Both Were Thanking Something In It Was Or Is Makeing me Sick Still. So I Go To Regular Doctor Yesterday And He Puts Me On Cozaar 50 mg , It Causes Nerviousness & Seems To Be Causeing Upset Stomach , running off , sorry . But Would Like Your Opinion On This Please.

I definitely understand to stay with nausea all throughout the day and empathize you.
However there are no simple explanations for the queries that you posted. They are complex sometimes misunderstood. However I would like to simplify the answers for all the queries posted.
You should continue your blood pressure medications even though the Blood pressure target is reached (120/80). However the doctor can minimize the dose. At this age I rarely remove anti BP medicine from the list.
Medication induced nausea is extremely common and sensitive for people who are on multiple medicines. You should take the help of another medication to off set it or try other alternatives to get off it. Ondensetron is commonly prescribed to offset it. Dexilant is known to cause diarrhoea, itching and rash. Nausea was not described. It is supposed to clear up gastritis.
Skipping medicines one day to test if the medicines actually cause nausea is a good idea. But make sure you do not skip more than one day. It would not cause major harm if all the vital parameters are within acceptable limits. Hence I suggest you to inform your doctor before you do it.

Yes. You can better take finasteride if flomax does not work. We cannot exactly determine the effective XXXXXXX of a medicine for a given individual. So initial trial is important as is follow up. You can take it at night. I cannot guarantee The nausea subside.
Aspirin cause nausea and gastritis big time. Clopidogrel is better. Better blood thinners are available. You shud talk to a cardiologist now.

I was asking you to check with your Cardiologist about new drugs called Platelet Glycoprotein IIb/IIIa Inhibitors. They may be of help in your case. Please DO NOT STOP aspirin till then.
Lipitor is for cholesterol and not a right replacement for Aspirin. Fish oils cause nausea, bloating and uncomfortable burrps. You should take them with meal or at night during meal. You may avoid them if you do not wish to. Replace it with twice a week herring/salmon oil fish in the meal.

In my opinion Tetley tea should not harm you. It is good if taken in moderation that is XXXXXXX 3 cups a day.

Gatorade is good to build the electrolytes back if they seem to be problem. There is no harm taking Gatorade in moderation. Moderation needs to be defined properly may be 4 Oz a day can be taken or take it as a tonic (50ml) each time you have nausea. Please inform your doctor about Gatorade.

Xanax & Bentyl can be taken one hour apart. Your regular doctor can prescribe you Plavix. It is good that you found aspirin to be related to aspirin on your own.

Fatty liver on ultrasound is a common finding and is found in half of the people who undergo routine ultrasound. Most times it is benign and likely due to sedentary lifestyle, smoking, alcoholism, diabetes etc. Your nurse was right. Proper choice of Diet and exercise should be part of your routine. It may not be serious all the time. You need to keep a watch on it once a year. In theory fatty liver is still reversible but after 55 yrs of age it is difficult to reverse it.
Your doctor prescribed candesartan (Angiotensin receptor blocker) to treat blood presssure. It is not a bad drug. I am not sure if it is coated or not. I cannot find that information. Check if it helps you get out of nausea.

As I said earlier, fatty liver may be reversible but sometimes not. You should eat right, take prescribed medicines, no alcohol and anything that injures liver further.
You should not abuse phenergan. It has defined limits. So you have to judge what is overshooting your tolerance and then take it, otherwise you should learn other ways to tolerate nausea.

Drugs can interact each other, I suggest to speak to the prescribing doctor.
I suggest my patient to start with Dexilant before breakfast, Bentyl and Zofran for every meal. Atacand and Xanax at night bed time unless anxiety bothersome you during day take xanax. Aspirin once a day after breakfast. Proscar is in the afternoon meal.
