Seems to be glossitis, answer few questions

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
I have reviewed the attached photograph and it is looking like glossitis which is inflammation of the tongue.
It has multiple causes.
It is not looking like fungal infection.
Are you having any burning or itching on the tongue?
Have you taken any long term antibiotics?
Are you having anemia, any nutritional deficiency or any other ailments?
Kindly revert back with the answers.
Regards
Dr Asmeet

Brief Answer:
Rule out nutritional deficiencies

Detailed Answer:
It is looking like glossitis due to deficiency of iron or other vitamins.
I would recommend you to get your complete blood count along with assays of serum iron levels, serum folic acid and serum vitamin B 12.

Brief Answer:
Go for a biopsy to rule out leukoplakia

Detailed Answer:
Looking at this picture a whitish plaque can be seen. There is a possibility of leukoplakia.
If your doctor thinks it is leukoplakia go for a biopsy to confirm so that it can be managed accordingly.
