I have a -2.8 bone density count and my GP is recommending Fosamax. I am concerned about the side effects. Is this something I should consider taking, notwithstanding the scary side effects, or is there a more natural way to treat osteoporosis, that works?Thanks.

I have heard that there is an injection for osteoporosis that lasts 6 months. Is that true? If so, is it safe? Are there any side affects? What about long-lasting side affects? Also, is the injection a one-time thing, or does it have to be given several times? Thank you.
