What Could Be The Safest Treatment For Osteoporosis?

I have a -2.8 bone density count and my GP is recommending Fosamax. I am concerned about the side effects. Is this something I should consider taking, notwithstanding the scary side effects, or is there a more natural way to treat osteoporosis, that works? Thanks.

Hi I am Dr Gopal Goel Orthopedic Surgeon.
Fosamax is a routinely used drug for osteoporosis all over the world. there are side effects with every drug and one has to weigh the benefit vs side effects( likely).
With BMD 2.8 , unless you have reaction or side effects to Fosamax , I would recommend it very strongly along with calcium and vitamin D
Thanks
