Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Delay in periods can occur due to many causes.
Like :
Hormonal imbalance due to poly cystic ovary disease, stress and strain, weight changes etc.
Thyroid hormonal abnormalities.
General causes like anemia, diabetes,
prolactin levels abnormalities etc.
And sometimes urine
pregnancy test kit may not detect early pregnancy.
So, once consult gynecologist, get examined and go for
ultrasound.
Ultrasound helps in ruling out the possibility of pregnancy and finding out any possible cause for delayed periods.
If your doctor recommends you can go for thyroid profile, hormonal profile including estrogen,
progesterone, LH and FSH etc.
With this workup the possible cause for delayed periods can be identified.
Then with your doctor's advice, you can go for
ovulation induction.
Take care.
