Slightly Swollen Ankles. Diagnosed Heart Valve Issues Which Requires No Treatment. History Of Regular Intake Of Beer. Advice

I have slightly swollen ankles that cause no pain or discomfort. I have been drinking about 6 cans of beer /day for the past 3 months. I also have been diagnosed with heart valve issues that require no treatment (murmur) for the past 10years. I am 57 years old and male. What can I do to return my ankles to normal? Thanks

hi there!
you havent mentioned about your liver profile. daily alcohol can damage your liver as well in long run, better to cut down the habit slowly. edema on the feet can be due to number of causes- ranging from -kidney dysfunction, liver dysfunction, heart failure and nutritional deficiencies, also people who are obese, tend to accumulate fluids due to insulin resistance,it can also cause edema. as overall you appear healthy from what you have written, it must not be a serious cause. better you get yourself investigated for the above mentioned causes.
for modest ankle edema, what you can do-1.leg raising while sleeping 2.moderate exercise-like 30 mins of walk, to increase the blood circulation.
hope this helps you.
