Pain All Over Body, Fever,swollen Glands. Suffering From Bartholins Cyst. Is It Normal With This Cyst?
hello i have an embarrassing problem
i have a bartholins cyst.i saw my doctor today.she gave me antibiotics.the cyst burst on its own this evening.now i have terrible aching all over my body, joint pain and a fever.is this normal with this kind of cyst?it has not completely drained itself yet.the pain in the cyst has decreased,but i feel like i hav the most awful flu.also,my throat glands and other lymph glands have swollen this evening.

Fever, pain , with inguinal lymph node swelling is possible after Bartholi's abscee.Fortunately it has ruptured on it's own. Still it must be drained compleately- you will need few dressings & may be incision of the abscess under a Gynac's care.A specialist's consultation will be ideal.
Along with antibiotics some anlgesic & anti inflammatary (Ibuprofen-paracetamol combination) ,+B complex,vit C orally are usually given in such patient.
Your throat & other glands inflammation suggest associated infective glandular disease (which has adefnate H/O contact with patient )
.Both the conditions can be treated by same course .

. A Bartholin's cyst is not an infection, although it can be caused by an infection, inflammation, or physical blockage to the Bartholin's ducts (tubes which lead from the glands to the vulva). If infection sets in, the result is a Bartholin's abscess. If the infection is severe or repeated, a surgical procedure known as marsupialization may be required to stop further recurrences.
You have to consult you treating doctor for these symptoms and continue antibiotic for it.
