Child Has Fever, Low Appetite, Sore Throat, Mouth Pain, Brown Spots On Palms. Hand/foot Mouth Disease?

My daughter had a fever, low grade to 101.5, last week. She had decreased appetite and sore throat. Fever went away and she started complaining of mouth pain. She is experiencing a great deal of mouth pain, and it really interferes with her eating. This morning she has a few brown spots on the palm side of both hands. Very faded looking and inconsistent. These spots are on her fingers too.Should I assume this is Hand/foot and mouth disease?

Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

Are any ulcers in her mouth?

Is she having fever?

Any similar lesions on the soles of feet?

If yes, it could be due to hand-feet-mouth disease most probably.

But physical examination by doctor is important to diagnose the problem.

Therefore consult your pediatrician for physical examination and treatment.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.

Hi welcome to Health care magic forum.
Thanks for choosing H.C.M.Forum.
Your daughter had low fever, sore throat, and no apetite, fever subsided and mouth pain started, she had brown spots on the palm side of the hands and fingers.
Hands feet mouth disease is common in children, caused by coxsackie A virus, charecterised by the the fever, malaise, lack of appitite, then blisters on the mouth , hands and feet. Other causes are chicken pox, tonsillitis, etc.
I advise you to consult a physician for diagnosis and treatment.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery.
Best regards.
