Question: I have several red bumps on my back that itch...I have been putting cream on them but am wondering if it may be shingles .I just had a knee scope done a week ago...the bumps appeared a few days later

Thank you for follow up query.
I see some tiny red rash in lower back .
These may be due to allergy or scabies .
Does any other family member have it or have you been to any tour .scabies can be transmitted through beddings .you can develop rashes in groins or wrist or hand or in other places in body.
It is not herpes .
You can take antihistamine like cetrizine in morning and atarax in night.
If scabies is likely you can try with permite cream 5% after a good scrub bath in the night weekly once for 2 weeks.

Thank you...my husband and I are the only ones in our home and we haven't been anywhere. ..I do have a cat that sleeps with me...inside cat only...

Preferably sleeping with cats should be avoided.
Check and treat any mite infection in cats.if necessary consult veternery doctor.
You can also get treated with permethrin cream as suggested earlier.treat other members of family.
All blankets also need a good wash.
There are chances of recurrence.
