What Causes Blood In Urine After Excessive Masturbation?

default
Posted on Wed, 31 Dec 2014
Question: i get blood in urine after excessinve masturbation. This has been happenign for me for last 10 years, it occurs once or twice a year after excessive mastrubation. what medicine do i take. my urologist believed it is due to enlarged prostate and I am taking tamsulosin 0.4 mg for the last 20+ days, but the paid and frequenct urination is not going awaw

ALSO, i had urine analysis and the result came clear now. the results are:

urine color: yellow, charector: clear, ph urine: 6.5 , glucose, protien, ketone, bilirubin are negative. leekocyte esterase - negative, crystals none, crystal amt, none.

wbc, 0-4, rbc (none seen), epithelial cells none, cast, hyaline 0-4, cast, ganuline none seen, cast, rbc, urine - none seen, bacteria - none

I am pretty sure, this is due my excessive masturbation, i do it atleast twice a day. but this year it has been more in the last 3 months. I am trying hard to stop it.

My urologist found my prostate is enlarged and taking medicne (tamsulosin 0.4) before bed time in the last 21 days. But it appears the problem went away, but either due to drinking or my masturbation issues it came back.

After mastrubation, I get the feeling like a severe current runs through my penis and I know right away, I am going to be in the pain and frequent burning and urinating more and not able to sleep.

Please help me and suggest ways to stop this. If I have to avoid some foods also, let me know. Also, it was good and the pain was going away, but I had alhocol (wine one day and 4 beers yesterday), does this cause to come back?

Please advise, what I should and should not do and any medication you subsribe. I normally takes out of the conter medicines like urocalm 199 mg strong per dose, which has been helping me for the last few years, but it appears to be of no use this time. also, this year I masturbated a lot and it is embarassing to admit it and I am not able to stop this habit. please help

I also did ultrasound and bladder sonogram -- the bladder volume is 69cc. There is no bladder wall thikening. The ureteral jets are demonstrated. result: unremarkable sonogram of the bladder

kidney: normal kidneys. Impression: Fatty replacement of the liver.

thanks

Brief Answer:
Divert your attention to other useful activities

Detailed Answer:
Hello

My name is Dr Muhammad Ali Rauf & i will look into your problem.

I have gone through your query and would try to help you in the best possible way. I am sorry that you are suffering from this problem for such a long time. As you have undergone relevant tests that could tell the cause of hematuria and all came back -ve so those conditions are ruled out. A voiding cystourehrogram may be done to find anomalies in urethra.

Yes, excessive masturbation does cause injury to urethra and may cause hematuria. You need to make your mind busy in other daily activities. An idle mind results in such thoughts. I would share some techniques that will gradually help you in decreasing the frequency or masturbation. They are:

1. Keep your mind active and occupied at all times. Try not to be idle. Idle time is not good and your mind will eventually wander away to sexual thoughts resulting in masturbation. You may find an interesting hobby or learn something new (like a new sport or a musical instrument).

2. Make specific plans/goals for your future. You have to make short-term and long-term goals for your life and start working to achieve them.

3. Physical exercise is very important. This will not only keep your body healthy but also keep your mind fresh. Set time for regular exercise. You can do so in the evening for 30-45 mins.

4. Place a rubber band around your wrist. Every time you get the urge to masturbate, flick the rubber band. This will eventually condition you to associate masturbation with the pain, thereby deterring you from the act. The mere thought of masturbation may even cease to cross your mind.

5. Yoga as proven to be extremely relaxing technique. It requires you to concentrate specifically on breathing and posture.

6. Improve your social life. Meet friends and relatives, go for outings or group activities and keep yourself busy. Staying alone can make you more prone to engage in masturbation frequently.

7. Diet:
Try not to eat large meals, go for smaller and more frequent meals. Also, follow strict timings for your meals. If you become too hungry or hypoglycemic(decreased blood sugar level) then your mind can lose focus and this can lead to unwanted thoughts or behaviors. Try to eat fresh fruits & vegetables.

Conclusion:
You can control on it but it is a gradual process and will require your sincere & consistent effort. Above mentioned steps will help you. further you can also consult a psychologist or psychiatrist for group discussion.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health !!

Also, is it possible that drinking is causing issue?. Eg, I felt very good on until Friday, then I had 4 beers and hot drink on Friday night, Saturday morning the pain and frequent urination has started more and I am under pain in full saturday?. Is it possible that drink is becomming an issue ? it I have the enlarged prostate and I am taking the medication, doee the drink actually making it more painful and bringing back the frequent urination?.

Also, what are the foods, I should avoid and I need some medication to reduce the suffering.

Thanks

Hi Doctor

when I am doing googling, I found the below, which decribes the symptom correctly,

---------------
Type II - Chronic Bacterial Prostatitis
The signs and symptoms of this type of prostatitis progress more slowly and typically are not as serious as those of acute prostatitis.

Prostate pain
Excessive urination throughout the night (nocturia)
Lower back and genital area pains
Difficulty starting to urinate, or lessened urine flow
Occasional blood in semen or in urine (hematuria)
Painful ejaculation
A low-grade fever
Frequent bladder infections
-----------------------

And it is recomented
-------------------
Medications

Antibiotics.
Alpha blockers. These are prescription medications, taken by mouth, that help relax the bladder neck and the muscle fibers where your prostate joins your bladder.
Pain relievers.
Muscle relaxants.
Finasteride (Proscar), a drug that lowers hormone levels in the prostate, and microwave thermotherapy may aid some individuals but clinical evidence is lacking.

In younger men, drinking alcohol or consuming too much caffeine (especially coffee) can act as a prostatic irritants and cause frequent urination, so eliminating them from the diet can help. Dr. Weil advises patients to drink lots of water, and take 60 mg of zinc picolinate once a day until the symptoms improve, then halve the dose and continue on it.
------------------------------

please advise me on this. My Urologist has given me tamsulosin 0.4 mg to trate the enlarge prostate medication for 90 days and I have taken if so far 20+ days, but the paid and frequenct urination is not going away.

It is very bad at nights and not that painful in day time, as suggested above. I need some medicine and advise on how to eliminate this. The same problem occures every year in the last 5+ years, but goes away in 2 weeks, but this year it is not going away after a month, hence your support is required to solve and appreciated.
thanks

Brief Answer:
Online prescription can not be given. Rest explained below..

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thank you for getting back with the query. First of all i'm sorry to say that online prescription can not be given. You need to get prescription from local doctor.
There are three possibilities for increased urination. First Urinary tract infection (UTI); Second, diabetes and third, prostatitis/benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH). You had undergone urine complete examination which came out clear so UTI is ruled out. Diabetes can be ruled out by undergoing random & fasting blood sugar levels. Prostatitis can be confirmed by urine C & E, ultrasound prostate & PSA (prostatic specific antigen)levels.

Yes, drinking plays an important role in increased urination. It alters the extra cellular fluid levels of the body resulting in increased urination.

There are certain foods that irritate the bladder and may also cause increased urination. Such food includes:
> Caffeine
> Alcohol
> Chocolates
> Spicy food
> Excess water before going to bed

You need to AVOID these foods till your condition improves.

--> yes, Prostatitis can cause all the symptoms that you are suffering at the moment. Two basic treatments are prescribed for it. First, alpha receptor blocking drugs like tamsulosin and Second, antibiotic therapy. Both treatments require at least 3-4 weeks for improvement. It may prolong to show results IF patient does not take general care. You are already taking tamsulosin so i would suggest you to visit your treating urologist to get prescription for antibiotic therapy as well. I usually recommend my patients ciprofloxacin for 1 month. As it is a prescription medicine so i won't be able to give you prescription here. You need to get it from your local doctor. In your case as problem is severe so intravenous(IV) drug administration would achieve rapid results followed by shifting to oral therapy.
