Brief Answer:
Please upload reports.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for posting your query.

If you have not had any period since November last, it is time to get properly examined and investigated. Please upload any relevant reports you have.

Irregular periods can occur due to hormone disorders, weight disturbances, infections, stress, certain medications and hence a detailed investigation is mandatory to ensure proper care.

Also, I would like to know if you are still on the contraceptive pills or otherwise. Contraceptive pills have been shown to cause ovarian cysts and also to help get relief from them. The usage depends on the specific clinical situation.

In the current scenario, if you are not on the pill and are sexually active, the first thing to be done is exclude a pregnancy, which you have already done. Hormone assessment is followed to plan further management.

Please maintain a healthy weight, healthy diet and regular exercise.

Hope your query has been answered. Please feel free to contact for further clarification. I will be happy to help.

regards,
Shanti.V.

Brief Answer:
Please get complete investigation.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing again.

Menstruation, even with proper hormone balance can get disturbed occasionally whenever there is some infection, trauma or stress. This is due to the transient hormone changes that occur. The persistent building up of the uterine endometrium give rise to the picture of a bulky uterus.

Please exclude pregnancy through a blood test and a trans-vaginal sonogram, if you have not done it earlier. The sonogram is also useful to know the status of the pelvic organs.

Please follow with a complete hormone profile, glucose tolerance test, serum DHEAS levels and ovulation studies. If ovulation is inadequate and/or if there is any hormone imbalance, it can be corrected with medication. This will then ensure return of natural regular menstruation.

Cysts of the ovary may be managed as per the situation. Small cysts are usually left for spontaneous regression while the larger ones need active management. Laparoscopy may be helpful in such a situation.

Control of hormone imbalances if any, will control abnormal fat accumulation. In addition, you should also take dietary precautions and do exercises to reduce abdominal fat. Yoga is a very good practice with lots of movements to help you.

Hope I have answered your query. Please get back if you need any more help. I will be glad to do so.

regards,
Shanti.V.
