Hello,

Thanks for writing in.

An infection in the lungs or narrowing of airways can result in difficulty breathing, which results in a feeling of chest tightness accompanied by a cough.

Treatment :-
Bed rest, drinking plenty of water and hot drinks such as herbal teas are often the best treatments for speeding recovery from chest pain.

Albuterol inhalation, either with a hand held device or nebulizer will help dilate the bronchial tubes.

Short-term steroid therapy will help minimize inflammation within the bronchial tubes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any more concerns.

Regards.

Hi
Welcome to HealthcareMagic.
With these set of symptoms , you probably have exaceberation of asthma or bronchitis or pneumonia. In such case one should visit Physician and get examined.Physical examination can help in coming to a diagnosis and treatment. This could worsen and become severe ,or it could be managed on out patient basis , which depends on physical examination.

What other symptoms are you having?

You are having Respiratory tract infection and may be pneumonia too. There may be pleurisy too...
Dont waste time and get a check up done from a chest specialist.

Take Paracetamol 500mg tablet twice daily for 3 days and thereafter sos
Take Levocetrizine 5mg tablet twice daily for 5 days
Take CoAmoxiclav 625 mg tablet thrice daily for 5 days.

Take Inhaled Levo-Salbutamol 100mcg 2 puffs sos for asthmatic attacks.....
And if you are having breathing difficulty all day long, then continue (Salmeterol+Fluticasone) 250mcg 2 puffs daily and take Levo-Salbutamol 100mcg 2puffs for acute attacks

Do warm saline gurgling four times daily for a week.
Take Vit C 500mg tablet once daily for a week. Eat plenty of citrous fruits.
Have plenty of fluids.

But dont self medicate.Get a clinical checkup from a chest specialist and take his advice.
