What Is The Cause Of Bump Under Skin After Dog's Tooth Hit Finger?
My dog went to go grab a ball out of my hand, and her tooth almost bit my finger. Anyways, she hit my finger pretty hard it felt like a bite but it wasnt. Now there is a bump under my skin... a little white not too much. What is it and am I okay to let it heal by itself?
I can understand your concern for bump under skin after dog's tooth hit finger.
The most important thing is whether your dog is immunized or not. If your dog is immunized then there is no need to worry. If not then should go for immediate rabies vaccination done. If you have not gone for tetanus vaccination then the same is also necessary.
For the wound: Wash the affected area with soap and water and keep the wound open. You can apply antibiotic cream such as fucidin or mupirocin and take pain killer tablets such diclofenac or paracetamol.
Do not try to even touch or pinch the area as can cause more aggravation of the problem and spread of the infection.
If it is increasing despite the treatment then meet a family physician and get a proper treatment without delay for the oral antibiotic such as ciprofloxacin or amoxycillin 500 mg two times a day for 5 days to prevent secondary infection.
Take care.
