Uvula Sore, Yellowish And Itchy. Should I Be Concerned?
My uvula has what seams to be a little sore on it. It looks yellowish and is a little itchy. I am also noticing I have to clear my throat often. Its not nearly as bad as all the pics on the internet but I am still concerned. I am 31 and a female, please help!
Beside this a thorough examination of throat is necessary to rule out local pathology of harboring infection as adenoiditis and tonsillitis or any disease of gums and teeth. If any such infective site is found than that should also be taken care off.
Till above formalities are crried out you may take-
1- Antibiotic (preferably broad spectrum)
2- Anti-inflammatory.
3- Antiseptic mouth wash and gargling.
I hope this will help you.
Regards.

Uvula Sore, Yellowish And Itchy. Should I Be Concerned?
Hello Welcome in H.C.M. In reference to your query regarding swelling and itching of uvula along with pain is indicating for uvulitis. To diagnose your case and for proper treatment i would like to suggest these investigations- 1- Culture and sensitivity of throat swab. 2- Blood- CBC, ESR, blood sugar (F & PP). Beside this a thorough examination of throat is necessary to rule out local pathology of harboring infection as adenoiditis and tonsillitis or any disease of gums and teeth. If any such infective site is found than that should also be taken care off. Till above formalities are crried out you may take- 1- Antibiotic (preferably broad spectrum) 2- Anti-inflammatory. 3- Antiseptic mouth wash and gargling. I hope this will help you. Regards.
