Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
Diabetes is due to progressive loss or destruction of beta cells in endocrinal part of pancreas.
Diabetes is a multi organ disease with involvement of almost all organs of body due to its complications.
Blood sugar both fasting and postprandial must be in controlled range.
Uncontrolled diabetes increases the chances of infection.
You should consult with with internal medicine specialist/ general surgeon and should go for thorough check up.
She should continue the prescribed medicines.
She should also apply antibiotic ointment topically and keep her hairs clean.
If her condition won't improve then there may be requirement of incision and drainage.
Fever and giddiness could be due to scalp boil.
Take care,

Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
Your mother is having Diabetes and fever which is due to skin infection as it is hart it should be cellulitis and abscess formation.
It may have collected pus inside hence consult a surgeon and after examination may require I&D( Incision and Drainage), please get her complete blood count,Fasting blood sugar and Postprandial sugar.
She should continue taking her diet and insulin and depending on result dose of insulin may be adjusted.
Once pus is drained it will improve and pus can be sent for culture and sensitivity so as to guide for proper antibiotic therapy.
Take care
Good Luck

General & Family Physician Dr. Pavan Kumar Gupta's  Response
Hello,
If the boil is having the pus pocket, then it has to be incised and pus drained.
The best would be to get her admitted in the hospital and get her sugar levels well controlled by injection insulin and get her injectable antibiotics along with investigations to look for any other cause for fever besides this local collection of pus.
Uncontrolled diabetes can lead to development of any infection any where in body.
You must ensure that her blood sugar levels are controlled adequately after the discharge so that such an event or any other event doesn't get repeated again.
Thanks
