Hello Sir, I basically don t find a major hair fall problem with me but the density of my hair is drastically reducing. The scalp is very much visible and the partition has widened immensely and seems like the front portion of my head has distinctively very very less hair. I very humbly request you to suggest me what i should do in order to overcome the major problem of my scalp not being visible. If there are any multivitamin tablets or any hair oils , please advice! Thank you! YYYY@YYYY

I have a hard pale scab on my scalp. It is very well attached. I can peel or pick it off and it just comes back. No itching just a hard spot that gets sore after bothering with it. I get the same condition after a wound heals if i bother with the scab. It always goes away if I leave it alone but the one on the scalp seems to be permanant. Not sure how to deal with it.

Scalp is itchy most of the time, tried over the counter shampoos and one from doctors prescription also natural shampoos and oils for scalp but it seems to loosen underneath the scalp, I have picked at scabs on the scalp and scratched it raw in many places trying to smooth the scalp of scabs, not normal dandruff... has persisted over a year and a half... lost my job a year ago, so I suspect stress is a contributer, I also fish from the ocean shore and pier where I have suspected picking up something from sand fleas or ocean birds which sit on the handrails that I have had contact with.

doctor1 MD

Hi thanks for using HCM.

The persisting itching may be due to fungal infection since you stay near shore, with high humidity and sweating also with this constant scratching the scalp causes new wound and during recovery again there is itching and again scratch causing new wound and the cycle...

A few months back I had more than 6 little scabs on my scalp , after about a month all but 1 healed and then after about another month 4 scabs appeared on the top of my scalp. I had not hit my head or anything like that. I have been to the doctors and been given some cream (fucidin) but it doesn t seem to help, and this week at the bottom left of my head/scalp from the beginning of the hairline on the back of my neck there is a patch about an inch long and wide, which seems to be open skin and is releasing a clear sticky liquid (for 2/3 days) which is now changing into a sort of scabbed area, What can i do to help my scalp heal? Is this caused by something specific? Thanks

doctor1 MD

Hi,

It seems that you may be having pityriasis amiantacea.

There may be infected crusted lesions on the scalp.

There may be itching and pain due to seconadary infection.

Initial lesions might be seborrheic dermatitis, prurigo, irritant or allergic dernatitis.

You may be investigated to rule out...

doctor1 MD

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

The problem you have described is a minor one, and there is no need to worry about it.

Abnormal shape of skull or unbalanced scalp would not lead to any problem, whatsoever at this stage.

The fact, that your CT scan and X rays are normal, is also reassuring....

Just quite burnt on my scalp, rest of my face was fine as i wore sunscreen factor 30 which i re-applied continually. Noticed the day after on way home my forehead was slightly swollen now it has moved down to the corners of my eyes and i look almost unrecognisable! What do i need to take/apply?
