Have Pain And Bloating In The Abdomen Along With Tenderness In The Pelvic Area. All Test Done, Diagnosed As Enlarged Uterus. What To Do?

I am a 42yo female that is suffering from abdominal bloating and pain mostly located in lower abdomen. I have rebound tenderness in pelvic area and just a general heaviness in that area also. Had pelvice done about three months ago when I started bleeding after 11 years without a cycle. My periods have been regular since onset a few months ago. FNP that perfomed pelvice noted an enlarged uterus (about size of three to four month pregnancy but not pregnant). Lower abdominal US and TVUS-ovaries and uterus WNL. PSurgHX +appy and choley (1999 and 2000).

Hello,
thanks for using health care magic.

It is likely that you have a uterine myoma or fibroid.

Myoma turn to regress after menopause.

However, in symptomatic cases, it will not be a good idea to

consider waiting until menopause due to the discomfort

resulting from the symptoms.

At 42, with no desire for a child any longer, a hysterectomy

will be ideal as it will at the same time prevent against cervical

and uterine cancers.

However, you should discuss with your gynecologist for a

confirmation of the diagnosis and the options of management.

Best regards
Dr Achuo
