Suggest Treatment For Pain In Lower Pelvic Area After Intercourse

I am 10 months status post robotic hysterectomy. I have excruciating pain with intercourse in the lower pelvic area. This pain lasts up to 24 -48 hours post intercourse with lessening intensity. I have been undergoing pelvic floor physical therapy with no relief. Any suggestions?

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The hysterectomy may have caused injury to some nerve or ligament.
In this situation, pain can occur while and after sexual intercourse.
I will suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist to confirm the diagnosis and get further treatment accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
