Can Mirena Cause Dizziness,spotting And Fainting?

Here are my current circumstances, I have recently had a child and was placed on the mirena birth control during my 6 week check up(November). Lately I have been having severe dizziness, headaches, fainting, losing spots of my vision, having heat spells, cold chills, joint aches, and it feels as if I have a fever but my body temperature is in the 94’s which to say the least is below my average. What could be the problem and do you have any advice on what to do in this situation?

Hi.

I've gone through your query. I can understand your anxiety.

Usually following  hormonal IUD insertion people might experience symptoms like on & off bleeding,
abdominal/pelvic pain,headache/migraine, back pain etc. These symptoms will settle within 6months.

IUD at times results complications which demands the removal of the currently placed IUD.

I advice you to,
- Analgesics like ibuprofen
- To do USG pelvis to location the position of IUD & also the underlying pathology if any
- Take nutritious diet & iron supplements
- consult your gynaecologist for further assistance.
