Brief Answer:
Multiple disc prolapse and degenerative spine

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

Thanks for the query.

You are having degenerative disease is done with multiple disc prolapse and also scoliosis.

Do you have any symptoms with this problem? If you are having tingling and numbness or weakness of legs, then you may need to get the offending prolapsed discs should be operated. THis prolapsed disc causing pressure over your nerves.

Along with that conservative measures are a must:

Avoid forward bending, lifting weights. You can take pain killer and muscle relaxant combination prescribed by your doctor for pain relief like Tablet Diclofenac and Thicolchicoside twice a day. You can put hot water bottle to the painful areas for relief from muscle spasm.

If the medication isn't working then you can get Epidural steroid injection in the back, to treat multiple disc prolapse.

Kindly consult your Orthopaedic surgeon especially for the complications of scoliosis and it's degree which is not mentioned in the MRI Report.

I hope I have answered your query.

Thanking you.

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

Thanks for your follow up queries.

You need to do back stretching exercises. You can lie on your stomach on a firm bed. With both your hands, push yourself up arching yourself upwards, keeping the back flat. Also you can strengthen your abdominal muscles by lying on your back, keeping your knees bent and legs together with feet firmly on the bed. Lift yourself up and try to touch your chest to your knees with your feet still on the bed.Do this twice a day.

You can take Tablet Shelcal-D which has Calcium and Vitamin D combination, twice a day for a month. Side effect can be constipation and sometimes mild giddiness which is when you can reduce the dose to once a day.

LS belt can be used when you are sitting or standing and walking. Use it if you feel comfortable with the belt and relief of the back pain as long as you like. You can take off the belt when you lie down.

You can definitely do Yoga but kindly mention to your Yoga instructor that you have disc prolapse before you start Yoga. Avoid any forward bending while standing as much as possible.

The multiple disc prolapse is usually not reversible but you can definitely find significant relief from your symptoms with proper lifestyle modification and following precautions as mentioned. If they are not relieved in a few weeks, you can get an Epidural steroid injection which will help in your case with good relief.

I hope I have answered your queries.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

Hi there.

Thanks for the follow up queries.

The disease is not usually genetic, but it is a lifestyle disorder due to bad posture, constant weight lifting, forward bending, obesity etc.

You should avoid the same, do regular cardio exercise to remain fit and prevent obesity, strengthen the abdominal muscles and do back stretching exercises as mentioned before.

Eat a diet rich in protein like cereals, pulses, egg-white, chicken, lean meat, salads. Avoid junk food, colas, oily food, sweets, smoking and alcohol.

Avoid taking much of NSAID pain killers like Ibuprofen or Diclofenac as they can damage stomach and kidneys.

I hope I have answered your query.
