Hello,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Elevated sgot and sgpt are due to some injury to liver. Though the values very slightly raised so as to come to a diagnosis or point toward any specific cause, i would like to ask you few questions so as to help me answer thme better.
1. Do you consume alcohol? If yes how much and how frequently?
2. Are you taking any medicines? Like painkillers or any other which you have consumed frequently in recent times?
3. Are you having any symptoms like fever, nausea, malaise, tiredness?
Waiting for your reply.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX thanks for following up with me.
Sgpt and sgot are enzymes which increase in insult to the liver as i told you before. There are multiple causes for it to raise. Most common in XXXXXXX are alcohol, hepatitis or drug induced like painkiller group of meds. That is the reason i asked youthe questions.
Now according to the answers you gave me, i can give you following advices-
1. Cut down your alcohol totally till your test.
2. Watch for any symtpoms like fever, nausea. It means it might be because of hepatitis and this report might be early to detect it.
3. Repeat liver function test after few days again as it might be falsely high giving wrong report.
4. If possible and accessible get a USG abdomen to look at liver whether there are any fatty changes in it or not.
5. Some meds like certain antibiotics, painkillers can cause hepatic insult and derange the lft. So consult a doctor before taking them.
6. Reduce fatty substances in food and increase fibrous food so as to clean up the bile accumulation if at all present.
I hope with these the values should reach baseline. If you have more queries kindly ask me will help you out.
Even in future if you do any above test and have any question then you can ask me.
Thank you
