Brief Answer:
Try to get an ultrasound examination of abdomen

Detailed Answer:
Hello there, thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your problem.
By your history and description, in my opinion we should rule out psoas abscess first.
Psoas abscess is pus collection in the psoas muscle. This muscle is attached to the dorsal spine and runs downwards.
So any collection in this muscle can give rise to swelling in xiphoid area.
Since this muscle is attached to spine, abscess can cause stiffness and clicking sound in spine.
So better to get done ultrasound examination of abdomen to rule out psoas abscess.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health.
Thanks.
