Brief Answer:
As detailed.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood your concerns.
As per the history you have provided, this looks to be muscular as the pain is only in certain motions and activities.
But a possibility of infection also needs to be borne in mind.
I would advise you the following:
Clinical evaluation and examination by a Doctor helps further.
High resolution ultrasound and color Doppler.
Tests of blood.
These give further differential diagnosis.

I hope, this answer helps you.
With regards.

I also heard bursitis of the hip could be a possibility since my job requires a lot of lifting and constant motion. What would be the signs and symptoms?

Not likely

Detailed Answer:
Not likely.
You may add on clear pictures of the tube like area with a pointer attached to this query if possible as it helps sometimes for on-the-spot diagnosis.
Any connection with the bursa, psoas abscess can be diagnosed only by a MRI or CT scan study.
Go for it if advised so by your Doctor, preferably a General Surgeon after clinical evaluation and examination.
