Brief Answer:
Bowel/uro-genital infection to rule out first as following...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.

Having pain in left shoulder, hip, buttocks are suggestive for possible arthritis of respective joints and/or vertebral spine.

Pressure on lower left abdomen might be due to bowel distention or inflammation especially if you are also having gas problems. Can you please give more details regarding your bowel movements: have you had any problem so far? (constipation? diarrhea? alternating both?)

IBS is diagnosed after ruling out organic problems like:
- bowel infection: fecal analysis/culture is advised to rule it out
- urinary tract infection: to get ruled out through urine analysis/culture and abdominal ultrasound
- genital problems

If nothing is found, then, can determine IBS as final diagnosis.

You are also reporting to be taking Colfac (mebeverine) for the pain and Nexium to ease stomach acidity. This makes me think that you might also have heartburn. Upper endoscopy would determine whether there are lesions on upper GI tract (e.g. GERD, gastritis, ulcer) that could explain your symptoms.

Cardiac problems should be also ruled out through:
- ECG
- echocardiogram
- stress test

After re-evaluating the reports, the final diagnosis and treatment strategy will be determined.

Hope it helped!

Brief Answer:
necessary to treat constipation

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,

Thank you for providing additional information and helpful information.

As you are having constipation, there is a large amount of feces staying for long time in colon, left side waiting for bowel movement to get cleared.

As this is a long staying, colon gets distended and cause pain.

You feel such pain after eating, because once you start eating, your bowel will start moving.

Once you treat your constipation problem, you won't feel pain too.

All the best!
Dr.Albana
