What Causes Night Sweats Along With Cold Sensation?

default
Posted on Wed, 3 Dec 2014
Question: For the past three weeks ive been sweating at night - however it has gotten really cold here and my room has been super cold - around 60 degrees. So im under a lot of blankets at night. I also have hypothyroidism and havent been takingg my medication as i should. Ive been missing a lot of doses. These night sweats arent drenchig by any means- i just wake up and the back of my hair, chest, and back are moise and my room stinks in the morning. I also woke up with a fever blister yesterday. Should i be worried about lymphoma or another type of cancer?

Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern.

Please get your Thyroid function tests repeated. Its necessary as dose adjustments may be necessary. You should take your medicine daily especially w.r.t hypothyroid state.

Lymphoma is unlikely based subjectively just on history. Fever , weight loss, night sweats spectrum all lead us to check blood counts of patient for a raised TLC or to check for any lymphadenopathy present. You may get both done via an internal medicine doctor.

Let me know if you have any query

wishing you best of health

thanks
