This actually sounds like a fungal infection which commonly affects the groin.

You can obtain an over the counter topical cream from your local pharmacy which should help. The cream is called clotrimazole and can easily be obtained at the pharmacy. Please ask the pharmacist if you need help finding it

Generally you apply the cream 2 or 3 times per day for 5-7 days.

If despite the use of the cream you still have symptoms then I recommend you see your primary care doctor for a focused physical exam and further recommendations.
