What Causes Hair Loss, Heart Palpitations, Fatigue And Irregular Bowel Movement?

Question: I have been having some unusual symptoms lately. For the past month I've been extremely sensitive to cold, to the point of wearing a hat around the house. I've also had more than normal scalp hair loss, pounding heartbeat, fatigue, variation between constipation and diarrhea, increased urination, decreased appetite, vague upper trunk pain and a rolling, worm like sensation under my skin on left, middle back just below the bra strap.

Brief Answer:
Endocrine evaluation

Detailed Answer:
Sorry to learn about your symptoms.

I have noted your medications also.

When I see someone like you in my practice, I tend to order the following in addition to a thorough physical examination:

CBC
CMP
TSH
25 hydroxy Vitamin D

None of these tests require and can be done at any time of the day.

The CBC tells us whether or not you have anemia, for example.

The CMP looks for abnormalities of the liver, kidney, calcium, glucose and electrolytes that can be potential causes of your symptoms.

When the thyroid is either overactive or underactive then it can cause some of the symptoms that you are reporting.

I also had some odd bumps on my feet and lower legs before this all started. I thought maybe it was flee bites although our dog displayed no symptoms of flees. They started as red bumps with a raised pimply look and they itched. One of them, on top of my foot, spread to a XXXXXXX raised red pattern. That one remains but is fading, the others have disappeared.

Do you think the rash I mentioned above could be related to my symptoms?

Detailed Answer:
Seems unlikely. However, the blood tests will give us some idea as well.
