Brief Answer:
Needs clotting profile

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to health care magic! Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all, it is sad to know what you had been experiencing lately.

Based on the history you have shared, the medicines you have mentioned usually doesn't cause such side effect, however usually with these medicines aspirin is also prescribed as the regimen seems to be to control hypertension or to decrease strain in heart in a cardiac patient where usually aspirin or other anti platelets or blood thinning meds are given which may cause this.

Meanhwile you need to have clotting profile done including complete blood picture to look for platelets count as well as PT, apTT and Bleeding time. Liver disease should also be ruled out. Treatment should then be based on the diagnosis and thus it may require through examination to look for bruising or rash pattern. Though vasculopathies usually doesn't present at this age but still can be kept as a possible differential.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Regards.

I just found out he discontinued the meds. Is it safe to resume taking them after a 4-day hiatus?

Are you saying he should be taking aspirin as well?

Thanks.

Brief Answer:
These can be restarted but not aspirin

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Thanks for the feedback. Yes you can resume taking them but I said ideally, if bruising or bleeding problem hadn't been there, aspirin should be started with this regimen, but in current circumstances don't use it until labs like clotting profile and other don't arrive as it can worsen the problem. Regards.
