What Causes A Rash In The Perianal Region?

Question: I have a rash on my rear end, just around the exit, it can be cleared by running very hot water on it, it does not respond to any antifungal treatment

Hello, thanks for writing to healthcare magic.I can understand your concern.In my opinion,rash is probably due to perianal dermatitis.Stress,worm infestations,fungal infection etc are common cause for it.It can also occur if you have some internal disease like fissure,piles etc.Oral anti histaminics like hydroxizine will be helpful. Could the following be whats hapening. I find running very hot water on my Anus will generally get rid of the itch but it comes back as soon as I next go to the toilet. Perianal Dermatitis is a streptococcus infection, streptococcus being a bacteria and I assume this does not like the really hot water.

I see its appears to be rare in adults and is frequently missdiagnosed. It certainly sounds like the answer, I will see my GP and see about some treatment.
