Hi,
Lichen planus pigmentosus is a chronic pigmetary condition where the skin is deeply pigmented and hence all type of medical therapy appears to be unsuccessful. In my opinion the most important part is to reduce the sun exposure at its best. Wear full sleeves clothes and cover the body with...

Hi! I have an open wound on my face from a popped pimple and am wondering if mometasone furoate cream would help bring down the inflammation. I've got some left over from when I had a rash, and it cleared up the redness very quickly then. Would it help on a large swollen spot on the face?

doctor1 MD

Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic

Mometasone furoate is a steroid and though steroids are antiinflammatory but they should never be used for acne.
Steroids are in fact contraindicated for acne. Indiscriminate use of potent topical fluorinated steroids can in turn cause more acne...

I started using Mometasone furoate cream for my eczema about 1 year ago, I don't put it on that often maybe about once or twice a week and now on both cheeks i'm getting tiny spots of pigment loss. Should I stop using it? Or is it just a temporary thing?

doctor1 MD

Hello,

I can understand your concern for the skin pigmentation and use of Mometasone furoate cream causes pigment loss spots on cheeks.

I first and foremost suggest you to stop the cream immediately as this cream is medium potency steroid and can cause serious side effects on face.

hi

I was diagnosed for facial Seborrheic dermatitis which caused some hair loss in the mustache area just above the upper lip and was advised to use mometasone furoate solution which has treated the condition, but i have a tiny bald spot where i was affected. The doctor had told me to apply a certain tincture to stimulate hair growth in the affected region after ten days of applying the mometasone furoate solution. Unfortunately, my wife lost the prescription and I dont know what kind of tincture was prescribed. I currently reside in different city and I cannot consult the doc again, and neither can call the doctor cause I do not have the doctors phone number.

Therefore, I'd really appreciate if you could please advise me as to which tincture I should apply.

Regards,
Rick
