What Causes A Bump At The Vaginal Opening?

default
Posted on Wed, 15 Mar 2017
Question: Hi, I have a bump that is more long than round, right by my vaginal opening, it's been there before and I went to a walk in and was told it's nothing. Again I've noticed it since Monday and it doesn't hurt it's just irritated mostly cause I'm always looking at it but it does tingle or almost lick pins every once in a while. I have had warts years ago but I can't tell what this bump is and won't be going g to doctor till Tuesday. I've been googling a lot and worry about herpes but it's been 8 days not painful and no blisters, could be warts?

Brief Answer:
Not painful and no blister really make herpes unlikely!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for contacting us at healthcare magic.

I have reviewed your information fully. Simply put, it is not herpes as pain and ulcers are hallmarks of herpes. Warts to have developed over 8days only is a bit unlikely. Warts grow over time and not just in 8days. Therefore, to establish the exact cause of this rash is something that needs to be revisited.
I will need to take a look at this bump to be able to weigh in on what the possible cause is. Could it be an infected hair follicle? For this, kindly upload an image for review.

To upload an image, simply click on the link to upload a file and follow the instructions. If this proves difficult, please send the image by mail to YYYY@YYYY and request that the image should be uploaded to your query.

I do promise to get back to you with more insights and helpful recommendations as soon as the requested information gets here.

Yes not painful but irritating at the end of the day I think from rubbing, doesn't hurt to pee or touch it, I don't see a head for hair follicle and the bump is located pretty close to vaginal opening. It does some what tingle burn but like said maybe from rubbing? If was herpes would the pain be bad? And as well a booster form and pop by now? It's been 8 days and it's gottten bigger but still looks not like blister, I don't know how to upload a picture?

Brief Answer:
Herpes for sure would have been hurting!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Without pains, herpes is so unlikely. You can also mail your picture to customer care at YYYY@YYYY for upload if you find it difficult uploading. Reviewing will offer a path to providing more insights. Also, you may choose to see your doctor for a review as well.

I hope to hear from you and awaits your updates.

Kind regards!

I have emailed the picture. It's hard to see but it isn't just a circle bump it is longer, it tingles but don't hurt to touch or pee, it has grown in the past two days. I go see my doctor Tuesday but am still curious now. Just to re cap, herpes would be painful like painful un bearable to touch and pee? Doesn't hurt to touch. Also tingly feeling is before the bump occurs in herpes correct? Cause I still have to tingly feeling and would it have blistered already? Been 8 days. I did have bacterial infection not an std and I finished my penicillin and day after I finished I noticed this bump again it was there a year ago and doctor said it's nothing but this time like I said it is more irritated. Thank!

Brief Answer:
Honestly; couldn't locate theh bump on the image!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the image.

Unfortunately, am unable to spot the exact area of concern. One thing is sure, this is not herpes and nothing makes me think it is an infection. It might just be a secretion from one of the glands around the vaginal which is being trapped.

Be calm, relax and make this visit tomorrow. All would be sorted out and I do not anticipate anything worrisome from our chats and the image.

Keep me posted after the visit of tomorrow.

I wish you well.

When I seen the doctor yesterday he first couldn't locate then did and said it's nothing to worry but sent me for blood test for herpes as I told him I've been worry sick so he said for piece of mind... I still have the bump it's now been 10 days he never really said what it could be I go back in a week for my test results. I'm still scared of herpes can you give me clarity, would he be able to tell by looking? Also would it not have blistered and burst by now? And I feel as if my bottom lip is tingly... I worry a lot, I've never had a cold sore but scared that's what that is and connected to genital herpes... what else could it be?

Brief Answer:
Clearly not HERPES!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

This is certainly not herpes. this area contains many secretory glands and I think it is probably a retained secretion by a possible blocked pore. It's so tiny and that's why even the doctor couldn't locate it. There is nothing to bother about and the herpes test is clearly to put your mind at ease. Even if you were to test positive for herpes, what you have reported is not a manifestation of herpes infection.

I wish you well and call on you to be calm and don't develop fear when there are no real reasons for.
