Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Navel Post A Hysterectomy

default
Posted on Mon, 2 Jan 2017
Question: My mother had a hysterectomy severl weeks ago now. Almost a month. She has not "taken it easy" as she should have. Like most women, she feels better and thinks she can do more and then regrets it the next day. To add insult to injury, we have a 20 year old miniature dauschound who can not climb up and down the stairs and has to be carried out ever 2 to 3 hours to go potty. When I am and my husband are at work, she is the only one there to take him out. She lives with me btw. Anyways, today she has had a severe pain around her belly button. It's unlike any pain she has felt so far since her surgery. It was at a level 9 and is now more of a level 7. She has taken some Tylenol and decided to lay down to see if it gets better. I'd like for her to go to the emergency room. What could this pain be? Is it something that could be serious?

She does have vaginal bleeding. Not a lot but it is bright red in color. The docs removed her cervix and uterus and I believe fallopian tubes. They left her ovaries. The pain is located right around the belly button. No high body temperature or vomiting. They did it laproscopically. So she has at least two small incisions on the left and right side of her lower abdomen. She was constipated, but she has since gotten over that. This belly pain is recent. She is also experiencing small boughts of vertigo. That started last night. Each moment last for no more than a few seconds at a time and then it stops. It happens when she rolls to her right.
