Suggest Treatment For Discomfort In Groin Area Radiating From Back To Pubic Area

Question: I have a problem that I have asked several questions about and just wanted a specialist opinion as the two GPs I have seen have both told me to wait another couple of weeks to see if discomfort stops.
I have had an uncomfortable feeling in my groin area (it feels like it is on the panty line) Starts underneath near my back passage and travels up sometimes to my pubic bone, it is like a tightness and can be quite sore It has been there now noticeably for a couple of months. It feels like there is something there, only on left hand side, cannot be seen by the eye or by touch. I have been to the GP who has take urine and swabs, done an internal and checked for lumps or swollen glands. The GP felt or saw nothing that would raise red flags. Great but that does not solve the mystery. I feel it when I walk, and now uncomfortable when I sit, it feels constantly like my underware is digging in. it started as though it were a shaving rash or ingrown hair, just irritated, it is now quite uncomfortable I have tried to wear loose underwear but this does not help I still feel the discomfort with nothing on. . As there is nothing on the surface, could it be inside, I was wondering if it could be a slight prolapse or hernia that cannot be seen, The GP said highly unlikely as she could see nothing.I do get very constipated and strain going to the toilet, I somethimes bleed from the back passge , but do suffer with piles. Is then anything you can think of that would not present itself to the eye I requested an appointment with a Gyneacologist or an ultra sound , But have been told to come back in two weeks. I am loathed the leave it as it is bothering me every day I quite uncomfortable. The first GP put me on a course Amitrypteline 25mg a day as she had no idea what could be causing it and thought it could be nerve endings, I am convinced there is something there even though it cannot be seen of Any ideas? I have asked a couple of docs on this site and they have given various different suggestions. I would like a specialist opinion as I feel like I am banging my head against a XXXXXXX wall. Any ideas?? DO you think it could be something to be worried about, the GP thinks not, but I am a little worried there is something inside that cannot be seen. I am not usually a worrier, I just want to get to the bottom of it!

Brief Answer:
Hernia most probable reason

Detailed Answer:
Hello mam, thanks for trusting health care magic.
I understand your agony and anxiety related to the issue.
After reading your complaint in detail it is quite evident that nothing will change after a wait period of 15 days as told by your GP.
In my opinion you are having hernia in the concerned region and thus will only worsen with passing time.
It is further supported by the fact that you are suffering from constipation and piles and the history of progressing pain in the involved area.
In my opinion you need a proper work up by your gynecologist or a surgeon so that the problem can be managed at early stage itself.
In case you have any questions about it, I will be glad to answer.

Thank you, does that mean that a hernia cannot always be seen by the eye of felt on the outside, my GP seems quite adamant that it cannot be hernia but the fact that I feel something there when I sit and also it is aggrevated when walking, sometimes sore others like a type of pinching! would an ultrasound show this? Perhaps I can request that.

Brief Answer:
Get an ultrasound

Detailed Answer:
The history narrated by you is typically seen in hernia.
Try a simple test of coughing and putting the palm of hand on affected area on abdomen and feel the sharp pain again.
You definitely need evaluation at the earliest and in case possible an ultrasound too.
Ultrasound cannot see hernia usually but it will rule out other causes like a mild collection of fluid or bowel loop adherence if any.
All the best.

Thank you, I will do this. The affected area however is down near my anus and the opening to my vagina, will the cough test work there too?

Brief Answer:
Groin area will be better

Detailed Answer:
No dear, better to put your palm on the groin area and then cough.
Most likely this cough test (as we call it) will cause you a lot of discomfort which will get relieved soon after you stop coughing.
In case you feel a lot of discomfort these days you can take simple pain killers like paracetamol tablet.
Take care.
