Suggest Treatment For Atrial Fibrillation

default
Posted on Tue, 6 May 2014
Question: how can I stop olmetec 20 and concor 5? I am 67, have atrial fibrillation, and on average 150/100 blood pressure. I am currently also taking 3 mg warfarine. I have been told I have some kidney damage, a cardiologist even said I will have to choose between heart and kidneys. I added fish oil, serrapeptase, nattokinase, CoQ10 and curcumin+ since a few weeks, but cannot see any difference yet.

Brief Answer: What kind of kidney disease?? Detailed Answer: Hi XXXX, I apologize on behalf of your doctor for the harsh statement. How can one choose between heart and kidney? As doctors, we have to treat everything without options. If you could tell me what kind of kidney disease you have, the level of serum creatinine, about the type of your cardiac problem, I might try to address your problem and figure out a solution. Waiting for reply. bye.

Hello Doctor, Below the results of a recent test: Creatinine 1.36 Uric acid 5 INR 1.9 PTT 32.6 This is an angioscopy report dating from close to a year ago: Left ventricle systolic function is normal. There is a mono-troncular coronary disease. We see a non significant lesion on the first marginal branch accompnied by a pre-stenotic and a post-stenotic aneuvrysm of 5mm. Wa also see a significant lesion on the retroventricular branch of the circonflex but the caliberof this branch is less than 2mm. In conclusion, it is an indication of conservative treatment. I now have permanent AF. Thank you for your good advice,

Brief Answer: Continue olmetec, an excellent drug. Detailed Answer: hi, after seeing the results, I can confidently say that your kidneys are working fine. your cardiac perfusion is also not too abnormal for your age. Atrial fibrillation can be managed by concor and warfarin will help in prevention of complications due to AF. Olmetec helps your kidneys and also your heart, a must to take drug. I would strongly suggest you to continue this drug. Other stuff you are taking are just supplements and may be helpful in some patients. For permanent AF, there are options like Radio frequency ablation etc which will be told by your cardiologist. If you want to know specifically about anything, i am here. All the best.

Hi Doc, Cardiologists visited agree creatinine number should be between 0.70 and 1.40. Also, the hypertension drugs I have taken during more than 30 years have covered up the symptoms, and not adressing the cause. They are not only harmful but also inefficient - I just measured 146/104, even with the supplements. What can I do to reduce this high blood pressure without taking higher doses, which is to be avoided at my age? Also, I need to take twelve hour flights to and from Europe (I am in Thailand) next month, can you advice what drugs and/or precautions to avoid cardiovascular problems during those flights? Thank you and kind regards, XXXX

Brief Answer: Here are some tips. Detailed Answer: Hi, I appreciate your vision. 1.One defeciency i see in your prescription is a calcium channel blocker. Really something like Amlodipine should be in your menu, for reasons not known, you do not have it. it is an ideal drug for those who are above 60, whose blood vessles are hard and calcified. It keeps the vessels soft and reduces the BP, even milder dose works wonders for many. 2.you may carry emergency Asprin and statin tablets (life savers) while you fly to be on safer side if you are worried about a heart attack. 3.It is extremely important to keep yourself moving in the flight, to keep blood moving in the legs. Compression stockings might help. 4.Avoid salty and spicy items while on board, as sudden spurt of BP can instantaneously trigger a heart attack. 5. avoid anxiety and stress prone events. Eg: It is better to take a later flight leisurely than running and straining to catch scheduled flight, if you are late. I hope i was of some help. any further questions are welcome. All the best.
