Suggest Remedies For A Blister On The Inside Of The Foreskin

default
Posted on Fri, 21 Oct 2016
Question: Hello.
I have a cold sore looking fever blister on the inside of my fore skin. I can clean it and apply antibiotic cream. The problem is that my foreskin is too small to pull all the way down. In the past, it has caused tiny tears in the skin causing more problems.

How can I get this taken care of? It hurts even looking at it.

Brief Answer:
Have you ever thought of getting circumcised?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this. Sounds like you have been having multiple small infections that have led to scarring. It gets even more complex as well because taking care of a wound underneath the foreskin is very very difficult as healing is delayed and often results in scarring. This is probably what has happened in the past and explains why it is difficult being able to pull it backward.

If you have no formal beliefs against circumcision, this is what is the one time fix to this problem. I strongly suggest that you give this a thought. If you so choose to, a urologist is the best person to contact for proper care.

If you cannot accept circumcision, cleansing daily with an antiseptic is recommended. Tylenol would help with the pain. You may also upload an image to me for review and more insights. Look at the icon to the top right of your screen and follow the instructions to get the image uploaded.

I hope this helps and guides enough. Keep me updated and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be. Until next, I wish you well.

Brief Answer:
Thanks for the pictures.

Detailed Answer:
HI and thanks for the pictures.

I understand how difficult it must have been for you to send these images. However, we are very professional and keep strictly to medical secrets. Your pictures are well protected.

I have reviewed them fully and the lesions are very visible. They are not too typical of herpes but I will suggest that you get tested for any possible infection. If you have been quite sexual active, I will recommend a full screen for sexually transmitted infections.

I recommended circumcision to hasten healing. I hope you have really considered this. If your response is a categorical no, then i will recommend that you do regular wound cleansing with an antiseptic lotion such as betadine. I will also like antibiotics such as amoxicillin to cover for common germs in this area. Without circumcision, this will take a longer period to heal and there would be more chances getting similar problems in the future.

Let me know what your final decision is. Am sorry for the late response and always available to address any further concerns.
