Brief Answer:
Introduce all sorts of food items one by item.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

The introduction of semisolids should have been done from 6 months of age as from this age merely mother's milk is not enough. From 6 months to 12 months it is a stage of gradual introduction of practically all sorts of items (low on spices however) one by one, introducing one item each week. So, rather than searching for the best diet, you need to introduce to her all sorts of tastes that you yourself are accustomed to. In the initial stage it would just be thick liquids, gradually it should be smoothly mashed, then coarsely mashed, then pounded. I am sure that if you introduce all sorts of tastes, the child will get used to them.

The medicines that increase appetite are actually harmful for the body and so I would not recommend their use. Other doctor would simply prescribe vitamins which actually have no role unless there is a specific deficiency. So, I would insist you to simply resort to what I have stated in the previous paragraph.

About the scalp scratching, it is likely to be due to a fungal infection of the scalp. Application of clotrimazole lotion topically should provide relief.

Regards
