Had Cat Scratch Fever. Getting Itchy Patches On Different Parts Of Body. Having Bump Underside Of Penis And Sore Throat. Suggest The Cure?

Question: I was diagnosed as being auto immune. I also had cat scratch fever. I was tested for HIV and it came up negative. The last few months I have been getting itchy patches on different parts of my body. I also developed a white pointy bump inside my nose which seems to change sizes. A few months ago I got a bump on the under side of my penis which seemed like it was just a pimple. After that went away I developed a huge puss filled cyst on my underarm and it seemed to go to the other underam also but didn't get as bad as the other one. Those are now better for the most part. Now the last few days I have had a very short term sore throat that went away quickly, red bumps on the back of my tongue, trouble sleeping and high blood pressure. I also just got laid off a few months ago and now have no health insurance. On top of this I have a tooth issue that I believe will turn into an abscess. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Brief Answer:
Symptoms don't point to specific physical disease

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

All the symptoms that you had described do not point to any organic disease. We commonly see them in most persons as routine illness esp the following
Itchy patches on the different parts
White pointy bump inside nose
Bump under the penis
Follicle underarm
Short term sore throat
Red bumps on the back of tongue

I do not mean to dismiss your symptoms but all of the above can be avoided with simple personal hygiene unless you have severe immunodeficiency. However it was sad that you were laid off and understand that without health insurance it is stress on the personal finances. I have few queries for you

1) Were the above symptoms severe enough and took more than a month for each one to resolve?
2) Were you diagnosed with auto immune disease by an Immunologist? When was it? Were Immunological markers tested?
3) What brings you pleasure in life?
4) Do you have family and kids staying with you?
5) Do you take alcohol?

I hope you won't be offended but opinion is to screen for low mood or depression after you were laid off and lost health insurance.

Are you depressed? If so, you need to seek help with an expert. The reason I ask is that your reaction to your symptoms is too severe to be related to any specific physical disease. This is a very common symptom of depression; if an individual is depressed, relatively minor problems become greatly magnified.

Thank you for all your help!

Some of these symptoms have been severe but its mainly just the fact that so many things have happened at once that it gets me worried. Also I tend to look up my conditions on the internet which I know can be a mistake because any symptom can point to numerous diseases and once I see anything like "oral cancer" etc I tend to get very worried.

I was diagnosed with auto immune when I was in the hospital a few months ago for high fevers and they also thought I had a stroke but I didn't. It ended up that I really had cat scratch fever. They also said that the marks on my body are most likely because I am auto immune.

As far as pleasure in life. My family and friends bring me pleasure as well as music.

I am currently on vacation in Florida and visiting my family and the following conditions have happened since I've been here: red bumps on back of throat, red bumps on back of tongue, sore throat that lasted not even a day, bloody nose, runny nose, sleeplessness, high blood pressure (the highest being 150/104)

I only take alcohol on rare occasions but I did drink a few nights ago when I went out with my brother.

I am definitely depressed but honestly I have been less depressed since leaving my job because even though there is stress from not finding a new one yet I did hate my job. I have had a little depression lately but definitely not as severe as usual.

I am not offended at all. Absolutely any reply at all is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

There you are

Hi,

So a 32 yr young married man with known autoimmune disease (no specific diagnosis) has mild stress and low mood is discussing how to improve on health.

Absolute personal hygiene is very important to avoid the frequent skin infections.
No restaurenting, eat home cooked food with emphasis on fish and greens. Add two variety of fruit to your diet every day.
A big 'No' to smoke and occasional alcohol like once a month is permitted. No binge drinking.
Take the opinion from PCP the need for BP medication. ( Now a days a lot of physicians give cash discounts if you do not have insurance, try it). If I were your treating doctor I would check the BP two more times and if more than 140/90 then I would start with small dose.
Adopt an active lifestyle with game or swim or jog in a day apart from music. Music alleviates stress and activity amplifies healthy living adds to sound sleep.
Stop reading about symptoms on the internet, makes one cyberchondriac. Instead discuss here with me.
Stay away from pets to avoid infections.

Please clarify if you have any specific queries or that I missed.

The only part incorrect is I am single and not married :-). Thank you for your help. I will likely have more questions and I will let you know as they arise and I'll also let you know if any conditions worsen. Personal hygiene has always been extremely good but everything else is definitely things that I need to work on. Thank you again for everything.
