Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.

I believe that the best course of action is to coordinate your care with a Family Doctor (who can prescribe these medications) AND you need to see a Psychologist. They can help you to deal with these complicated issues, especially the...

I was given vicroprofen for shoulder pain and inflammation on the same shoulder....i noticed that this med also helped with my anxiety and depression and i wanted to know if this med could also be taken for these conditions, i want to feel better. what are my options? i have told my doctor that meds that have been prescribed me for my anxiety and depression only make me sleepy and i cannot function well, but that the vicroprofen helps with all my conditions and i can function normally on a daily basis when i take it as prescribed. i have missed work and time with my family when my depression and body aches, could this pill be enough for me?

doctor1 MD

If vicroprofen has improved depression and anxiety, most likely you had secondary depression.

In cases of secondary depression, if depression improves with optimum treatment of primary medical condition, then there is no indication for taking antidepressants

Medical evidence wise, Vicroprofen is...

I have been on anti-depressants for 6 years. I am weaning myself off if them bc I am constantly tired. I almost feel like I am getting myself back & my personality bc for about 3 years people have been saying that I do NOT act like myself.
Could the anti- depressants have made me feel more depressed than before I started taking them?

doctor1 MD

Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.

It is unlikely that the anti-depressants could have been the cause for your depression or its worsening. However, certain anti-depressants can cause drowsiness and sedation, which could have probably prevented you from being active and...

I was given a prescription for Citalopram 10 mg.. I read some information about it and now I am very leary of taking it. I hesitate to take any type of mind altering drug and I feel that this falls in that category. My father has dementia and as a precautionary measure, I am going throught the analysis testing for potential problems. After 2 short session of memory testing, the drug was prescribed. I just don't feel good about the early prescribing.
What are your thoughts?

I quit taking my Norco pain killers after being on them since mid 2008. I had to take more than prescribed to get any relief so this time when I ran out almost two weeks before my next Dr. visit I planned to be sick for a few days until the withdrawal was tolerable. Now a week since my last pill I am experiencing the actual back pain that drove me to the Dr. in the first place. This pain has been with me since I was 14, literally 30 years. I have tried chiropractic services, acupuncture, and was hospitalized with autoimmune hepatitis after taking diclofenac with tylonel because alone it did nothing for the pain. I was even on MS Contin ER for 18 months with the Norco and decided to quit them cold turkey in early 2012. My question is, what are my options? I do not want a narcotic pain reliever and I am susceptible to depression especially when the back pain remains, well, chronic.

I have had chronic fatigue, joint pain, water retention, depression and weight gain over the past year and a half. I had my blood work done and my Prolactin level is at 52.3. I will be having more blood work in about 6 weeks. Could Prolactin be causing these problems? Oh and I am only 32 years old, I shouldn't be feeling this bad.

My name is Elli and i am 16 years old, i have been ill with something that the gyneacologyst in my town cannot recognise. My illness includes excrutiating pain in the lower-abdominal area, and i also have servere depression.

I have been taking 'Yasmin', a contraceptive drug to ease the pain of my periods, I used this for 3 months with a 5-day gap, as you would normally take it. For the past 3 months, i have used this as she ordered me to, to take it once a day with no gap in the month. So, I have not been having a period at all for 3 months, and now through the past week, i have had a dark-brown substance which has no smell, i am guessing that it is blood, although when i used to have periods, they were very heavy, and this is not.

I do not know why this is happening to me, please can you provide me with an answer or advice please?

P.S. i am also taking several prescribed pain-killer drugs to ease my pain, ibuprofen, codiene phosphate, St. John's Wurt (for my depression), and audmonal.
