Can I Get HIV By Having Protected Sex With HIV Positive Person?

Question: had an unprotected virginal sex 8am same day I had same unprotected virginal sex with same lady 1pm. I requested we get tested, I came negative and she was positive one faint line and 1 clear. I left and went to my doctor 5pm he gave me AZT pep for 3days, started that immediately 6pm same day. I finished it then went back to Dr and told him I wanted the 28days pep he gave me zidovuden which I started same time under the 72hrs mark. The lady further went and tested, she was positive, cd4 1580 and her viral load less than 40....., please tell me what are my odds here. I had symptoms of itchy all over my back then swollen lymph node 19days post exposure. I then did a 4th Gen test and a stand alone antigen test all negative. I have also noticed some small red bumps on my back too. My pep has been finished Saturday

- Doing sex with HIV positive person won't make you HIV positive.. There are only 4 per 10000 persons develop HIV after such a unprotected sex. It is good that you had ate PEP and also a 28 days drug course. It will further reduce your chance of having HIV.

- You should get tested by PCR at the end of week of treatment or P24 antigen test or 4th generation ELISA at the end of 28 days to confirm the status.

Blood has been drawn for the hiv pcr dna test. since my antigen p24 was negative so my odds are good that all will be fine. I am panicking waiting for this result and my blood pressure has triggered 160/120...I just need assurance and the result to keep my mind and peace calm. when you say allay my fears what do you mean please doctor. the local doctor here wants to do a full blood count to know why i have swelling he did not also relate it to hiv. another thing is I seem to have diarrhea slightly.....

Dr, got the results for the DNA PCR test and the full blood count. Pcr negative , full blood count all stable.
