What Is The Impression Based On My Blood Test Reports?

recent blood test. vitamin b12 975, tsh 7.600 high, vitamin d, 25-hydroxy 25.7 low rbc 3.45 low, hemoglobin 10.1 low, hematocrit 31.2 low...rdw 17.4 high . .My metabolic panel is also high. I am anemic. any thought on the causes ? What other test do you recommend if any. My doctor is recommending an upper gi.....thank you Ilene

Hi,
Your TSH appears to be elevated probably due to hypothyroidism. So i think your T3 and T4 levels will be low. You are anemia probably microcytic hypochromic. All other levels appear normal.
I would not recommend any test without having the whole report and the indication for it. There are numerous tests, that can be done.
If your metabolic panel is also high, a strong renal or liver function test is necessary.
Do you have difficulty in swallowing or vomiting blood? Why Upper Gi endoscopy?
