What Could It Be If I Had Sharp Pains, Smell, Pus From Near The Belly Button?
I just came back from the emergency room, I went because I had sharp pains and a lump near my belly button. They gave me antibiotics and pain medicine but never found anything wrong with me. I just got home and there is puss and an Odor coming from inside my belly button. What should I do ?
I can understand your concern for the sharp pains, smell, pus from near the belly button
It appears form your query that you have developed belly button infection. This area is quite common to get infected very easily because of sweating and high bacterial proliferation.
Oral antibiotics with proper hygiene maintenance is a must in this case. You must visit a doctor and take oral antibiotic such as ciprofloxacin or cefadroxyl 500 mg two times a day for 5 days to prevent secondary infection. For time being period you can apply antibiotic cream such as fucidin or mupirocin and take pain killer tablets such diclofenac or paracetamol.
Do not try to even touch or pinch the area as can cause more aggravation of the problem and spread of the infection.
Take care.
