Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
what is the cause of low blood pressure in one leg only? I often have terrible cramps in that leg and also inside the leg it feels as if it is my arteries that are hurting. The cramps are mostly during the night and the internal ain during the day. I am 71 and have Diabetes type2
I understand your concern and would explain that your symptoms seem to be related to a peripheral neuropathy induced by diabetes.
But a careful differential diagnosis between other causes, like a venous insuficincy or peripheral arteriopathy should be performed.
I recommend consulting with your GP for a careful physical examination and tests:
- A nerve conduction study to examine the lower limb nerves - A Doppler ultrasound of the lower limb vessels to examine the blood flow -blood lab tests (complete blood count, HbA1C, fasting glucose, PCR, sedimentation rate, kidney and liver function test, blood electrolytes).
You should discuss with your doctor on the above issues.
Greetings!
Dr. Iliri
