That's what Lopressor is supposed to do. If you feel dizzy, light headed, or actually pass out, get to an ER or call your doctor.

I bought an Omron blood pressure monitor have just taken my first blood pressure reading. Then nine more readings as I was quite shocked by the readings. Five readings off each arm . Systolic ranged from 97 to 101. mostly 98 and 99. Diastolic ranged from 58 to 65. mostly 62 and 63. They seem awfully low. I wanted to ensure I didn t have high blood pressure (Use to use a lot of salt) but now find its lower than normal, which I m told is around 120/80. I vaguely remember having it check years ago by a GP and I think he said something like 120 or 130 over 70 or 80, something like that. Unfortunately he died a few years back, so there is no way I can confirm that. Could this be a problem? Why so low? Comments?

I would like to know what are the causes of having low blood pressure? My mother is 77 yrs old. She was taken to the ER because she was having a hard time breathing and her face was turning blue. Hospital informed us that her BP is low and that she needs to be admitted. After 2 days she was released and admitted again this morning due to her low BP. She is weak, in and out of her consciousness and awareness. She shakes when she is in any pain. We have not receive any understandable explanation regarding her health condition. Your help will be very appreciate. Her medical history are the following. Her doctor prescribed oxycodone for her pain. My siblings decided to take her out of her pain meds because it s not helping her with pain anymore. And the pain meds is not good for her at all. She is getting blood dialysis treatment.
