What causes itchy rash on the groin and anus?

I have a rash between my groin, thigh and right above my anus which produced open lesions. I used Neosporin and it healed so i thought. but all it did was act as a pacifier calming the severe itching. I have been bathing every night to keep it under control. When i sweat it or get nervous it itches crazily. I am 180lbs, age 35 and i have no known medical problems except for hernia at age 10.

Hello,

You are most likely having superficial fungal infection as per your description. Applying Neosporin which mainly comes in combination of steroids will only give relief temporarily followed by recurrence. hence you edd to apply Luliconazole or Sertaconazole cream twice daily with oral anti-fungals Itraconazole twice daily for a month at least along with antihistamines oral for few weeks.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
