What Are The Side Effects Of DT And Pertussis Shot?

The side effects of DT and Pertussis shot scares me. Does the benefit out way the risk? I am not due for another DT shot for 5 years and was advised to take it now for my Baltic Cruise in May this year. I am 76 years old in very good health. Only take a thyroid pill andl glaucoma eye gtts.

Yes the benefits outweigh the risks on these. Simple. Pertusis, tetanus and I believe also diptheria are not going to ever be gotten out of the environment. The risk of dying or serious permanent damage from each of them is far, far more than the risk of the vaccine. The serious allergic response risk from it is about 1 in a literal million. I see adults with pertusis even though they are immunized most weeks. BUT, if immunized, it is like an average cold and without it it is like the lungs are ripping out. bad. Everyone gets cuts. Everyone probably gets exposed to tetanus. It is one of the worst ways to die if not immunized. Certainly prior to immunization everyone didn't die from tetanus but it was common before immunization and it doesn't happen now.
