Trans-Vaginal Ultrasound Shows Echogenic Structure Noted Suggestive Of Polyp Versus Blood Clots. Need Clarifications

Hi, had my Trans-Vaginal ultrasound today and it says that: The uterus is anteverted with regular contour and heterogeneous echo pattern. There are myometrial masses seen. The cervix is closed without nabothian cysts. A suspicious 0.75 x 0.48 cm echogenic structure is noted suggestive of polyp versus blood clots. The endometrium is hyperechoic with intact endomyometrial interface. A polypoid structure is noted measuring 1.7 x 1.1 x 0.54 cm. No definite evidence of intrauterine nor extrauterine gestational sac. The right ovary is lateral to the uterus and contains follicles. The left ovary is posterlateral to the uterus and contains follicles. There are no adnexial masses seen. There is no free fluid in the cul-de-sac.
Please give me clarifications on this. Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello ma'am.

The important aspect of your investigation are:
-A lesion noted which will have to be confirmed, supected is either a blood clot or a polyp (which is an abnormal growth) -- in such a scenario I would recommend a blood test to check your coagulation profile and a hysteroscopy to be able to adequately visualize the structure

Please follow up with you doctor for the same.

Best wishes.

Infertility Specialist Dr. Nandita Thakkar's  Response
Hello
Thank you for writing to HCM

The scan suggest intrauterine polyp/ Blood clot.

A 4D scan along with a saline infusion sonography will be able to identify the problem better.

The best option will be hysterscopy evaluation and removal of the polyp.

A complete preliminary blood tests will be done before the procedure can be planned.

Hope to have answered your query
