General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Irregular and heavy menstrual cycles are expected during the perimenopausal period. However, since your endometrium is thick, it is best to get an endometrial biopsy done and further management can be decided according to biopsy results.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal, General & Family Physician
