Hello. A single lymph node in the neck and in the inguinal region which is not long standing, and has been accompanied by a viral kind of fever, will mostly be harmless.

At 18 months of age, the lymphocyte count is more than neutrophil normally, so you can be assured.

Now, it this lymph node enlargement stretches for more than a week, you should go in for a repeat CBC and also an FNAC. in the CBC, it is very important for platelets to be adequate and the lymphocytes should be mature or reactive.

Hope this helps. Take care.
